Determining factors affecting the medical interns' choice of specialties among governmental universities in Riyadh

The nature of experience during the medical study at university may play an essential role in choosing specialty. Background: aim this is to determine effect national universities general and on interns' career choice, taking into consideration gender difference. Furthermore, find out when educate their students about different specialties. Methods: This was a cross-sectional that included 234 Saudi intern from four colleges Riyadh. These were King Saud University, Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University (PNU), Imam Mohamed Bin Islamic bin Abdulaziz for Health Science (KSAU-HS) with differences availability. All participants who are selected randomly completed online questioner unique code. Results: Around two-thirds (66%) ensured had positive influence specialties dividing equally between both genders. According participants' perceptions, all items education system did not affect specialty except three them have which elective (43.59%), clinical year (40.6%), personality instructor (38.46%). one-third (33%) emphasized educated 3rd year. most common decisive factor 19.36%, whereas negative factors improper block duration by 14.52%.
